The Windmill Hotel - Alford - Alford (Lincolnshire)

I almost considered giving a good review, but the horrendous sewerage smell in our apartment was unacceptable. Plus, i was shocked by the staff's lack of politeness, as if we were intruding. Such a letdown, especially since i expected a suite upgrade for my 'troubles. ' The whole experience certainly was like a favour, instead of customary hospitality.

Thank you for the nice stay in what is an old listed building of character. The rooms are cheap and perfectly clean with all things necessary. The location is marvellous and excellent, to meet friends when we could n't get a taxi. And it's really close to the hotel's Indian Restaurant, the town centre and Caldwell park.

The units are cheap, good-sized.

Location near the market square is excellent. Room felt spacious and clean at first glance, with a nice view of the square through a large bay window. I couldn't open the windows for fresh air, a bit stifling. Comfortable bed, but the lack of extra pillows was an inconvenience. The bathroom could use more attention. The shower had issues. Had dinner at the on-site Indian restaurant, which served delicious food that exceeded my expectations. Some staff were friendly, but I found the service inconsistent, particularly with room cleaning. The hotel has potential, but several improvements are needed to enhance guests' experiences.

There was lots of fab meals.

It was new-fashioned, neat and with a 4 poster bed etc.

The complimentary drinks upon arrival were a good touch that added a warm welcome to our stay.

The upstairs of the hotel had a noticeable smell like there was a problem with the drains, quite off-putting.

The breakfast offered a huge variety of fab meals. The location to a cafe round the corner was excellant and quiet.

The friendly reception and delicious Indian food infused with local flavors made our stay good. We loved that our dog was welcomed and we could dine in the bar without any hassle.

The spacious room, with a large bay window, gave a charming view over the market square. The friendly staff, and the coffee was excellent.

The lack of breakfast options was disappointing, especially since many eateries in town were closed on Sunday. The room got quite stuffy, and we couldn't easily open the windows for fresh air.

My family enjoyed our stay, especially the thoughtful gestures from the staff and the comfortable, clean room. The hotel also offered free wi-fi in the rooms which was a nice touch.

The staff were very attentive to my needs. The room was clean, with a lovely comfy bed and a great selection of tea and coffee. I appreciated the quick response when I asked for extra milk. Guests have enjoyed the tasty food vans available on-site.

The room could benefit from a few updates.

Nice place with free wi-fi, a comfortable bar area, and helpful staff who guided me to shops on my first visit. I'm excited to return for another weekend.
